Tele-mentoring from airport hotel in Berlin

I a 40 year old professional woman, and work as a web-based telementor. This means that I can educate from a far. I trained as a teacher and for many years worked in the United Kingdom as an English teacher in a secondary school. When I had my children I decided to take the step of becoming a supply teacher, as this meant I had more flexibility which enabled me to work the hours which suited me and the children.

As my children have now grown up and left home, I decided it was my chance to travel Europe, so I rented out my property and found a job web-based which I was able to do anytime any place. So this is what I am doing at present, sitting in an airport hotel in Berlin Adlershof waiting for a connecting flight which takes me on to Spain, my next destination.

I teach from primary age through to secondary school children, and help them with a whole range of studies. The parent or student with internet access locate me (a tele-mentor), and we set up what is referred to as a curriculum based electronic exchange. It allows the interaction which occurs during a lesson in the classroom to be supplemented and expanded on by the use of electronic mail and web-based chat.

So basically if a child is struggling on a particular aspect of mathematics, but has not covered this topic in full in the classroom, then I as a mentor can help the student with this, by guiding the student through by web-based chat and follow up on this chat by sending notes via e-mail.

It is a great way of living the dream and earning money at the same time, I am able to cover the cost of the trip whilst having a little put aside for when I finally decide to return home. However, I think that for now that may be quite a long way off, as I look over the view of Adlershof, I am looking forward to my next destination.

Airport

The Hotel in central Berlin in connecting flight is not due to arrive until tomorrow morning I am going to take full advantage. There is a gym with all the up to date equipment in it. There is an Olympic sized swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room and a hot tub. After I have been for a good work out I am going to relax in the hotels spar facilities. I have booked in for a meal in the restaurant, which is located at the top of the hotel and enjoys magnificent views over Berlin Adlershof.

Then I think I will retire back to my hotel room, check my emails for new work which has come through and enjoy watching the planes at the airport land then take off into the night’s sky, perhaps go to a few Berlin restaurants. So for anyone thinking of setting up an internet based company, take it from me it is well worth it.
